Museum of Tarot Hieronymus Devices Header

Hieronymus machines have gained an almost legendary status among researchers since the 1940's for one good reason - they work. Here we will explore some one-of-a-kind original devices from the Museum of Tarot collection.

Radionic Devices

Radiation Laboratories Devices (1948-1951)

Dr. Hieronymus began his Radiation Laboratories in Kansas City, MO in 1948 and continued production until 1951. Click on devices below to open their photo galleries.

The Atomic Analyzer

An Early Hieronymus Atomic Analyzer

Louise Hieronymus operating an Eloptic Energy Analyzer in 1950.

An early Radiation Laboratories Atomic Analyzer (model ATM-ANL).

We believe this was one of Dr. Hieronymus's personal instruments. It was purchased from Dr. Hieronymus's Georgia estate when he passed, and this may even be the first unit he produced. This device appears in a photo of his Kansas City lab with his wife Louise from 1950 (shown below).

It is a real delight as it appears to have been a working prototype unit containing several obvious component revisions, drilled holes, and tinkering along with hand written notes on the unit by Dr. Hieronymus himself.

The 3 Prisms Analyzer

The Hieronymus 3 Prisms Analyzer

This 3 Prisms Analyzer was one of Dr Hieronymus's early protoypes.  Once containing three prism tuning banks now only the center prism remains. It is another unit obtained from Dr. Hieronymus's estate.

The prism enclosure has the written note "250 glass" and the tube amplifier contains the scratched note "orig sample do not use".

The case of this device contains a storage pouch containing a handwritten note by Dr. Hieronymus:

"250 Glass

3 Prism Type Analyzer

2-6SJ7 GT (tubes)

1- 6C5 (tube)

Std. Amplifier"

The Anapathic Device

A Hieronymus Anapathic Device

Another of Dr Hieronymus's early units, this Anapathic device has been updated and tweaked repeatedly over the years. It is another unit purchased from Dr. Hieronymus's estate.

The original Radiation Laboratories components and shell appear largely intact. It appears to have circuit boards which were added to the original unit later (amplifier?). The circuit boards are labeled ASR&D and are dated to 1983 and1986.

The case interior contains a note of an "amplifier upgrade by William D. Jensen" in 2010. The device was unfortunately left partially finished and in a state of disrepair when we obtained it.

Large Bank Tuning Device

Hieronymus Large Bank Tuner

This device is truly amazing. Built like a swiss watch, it is beautifully and painstakingly constructed. It shows Dr. Hieronymus' mastery of the electronic and radio craft. It has survived the years in pristine shape, the only issues being a few scuffs on the art deco wooden case.

The Radiation Laboratories tag states it is model number "PTA 3133" (or "FTA 3133", the letters are over stamped on one another) though we do not know what the name of this device actually was. If you do, please contact us here and let us know!

Advanced Sciences Devices

Advanced Sciences Research & Development Devices (1967-1988)

Dr. Hieronymus began Advanced Sciences Research & Development (ASR&D) in 1967 while living in Florida. He later moved the operation to it's final home in Lakemont, Georgia.
